If you’re on my email list, or have networked with me on social media, you’ve probably learned I like to share awesome resources that have massively helped my business. Today, I’m gonna share a Ninja trick I use every day in my business that gets me eight discovery calls per week, on average.
My freelance career began a few years ago. And in that time I’ve had three different web designs, two logo/branding variations, and up until five months ago… ZERO business plan. Now, I still wouldn’t say my business plan is complete. I mean, let’s face it… client work comes first and mine always gets put last. But I implement as much as I can when I have the time. So let’s just say, it’s an awesome work in progress, mmmmkay?
Sounds too easy, right?
It is. But…
Simple is best.
And in this case, it couldn’t be more spot on. You see, the questionnaire gets enough pre-project information and is laid out in a way that the potential client knows I know what I’m talking about. They get the impression I’m professional and capable. And they get a beginning taste of what the process of working with me will be like. It’s all part of the Disneyland customer experience you SHOULD be giving to all your potential clients and current clients on a day to day basis.
PLUS, when they submit the questionnaire they go DIRECTLY to an Acuity Scheduling booking page… it’s all just laid out for them. They don’t have to find a contact button, an email address, there’s no other step they have to chase down to get attention, it goes directly to me. I lead them right to my door effortlessly. AND they give me what I need to start a conversation about their project.
I went from booking 1-3 calls per week with just my regular efforts using a standard Contact Form 7 on one page of my site, and some 17hats questionnaire forms sprinkled throughout my site, then emailing a scheduling link AFTER some emails had gone back and forth…. To booking 5-8 discovery calls per week AUTOMATICALLY with no effort from me at all.
I’ve booked more, converted more, spent less admin time to get them, and the customer experience is off the chain!
